I found this book while searching for a new one after reading The Scorch Trials. I was a little skeptical and actually passed on it the first time I went to Chapters. But when I decided against one I had bought and traded it in. What a good idea! Here is the summary from the back cover.

Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight. She is a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the kings thug.

This book is the Prequel to Graceling. It is a romantic, adventure fantasy novel about a beautiful “Monster” named Fire. There are Queens, Kings, assassinations, wars and love, everything you could possibly need in a novel to keep you interested. Or at least for me there was. Here’s the back cover, lets see if it pulls you in like it did me.
